WinTech DOZ 500
Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM)
We have recently purchased the amazing WinTech DOZ 500. This brilliant machine is a computer controlled foam cutter. Once programmed it can cut foam to nearly any 2D shape and many 3D ones.
It saves waste and allows us to keep our prices down by automatically cutting as many identical shapes as possible from a piece of foam. This machine is perfect for jobs that involve producing complex shapes or large quantities of identical shapes. Its vertical and horizontal blades allow for the cutting of complex 3D shapes.
The fact that instructions come directly from a computer file removes the need to produce a template or hand cut the foam - both points where error can creep in. The incredibly high speed oscillating blade gives a smooth precise finish.
There are only 3 of these amazing machines in the UK
WinTech Case Studies
The WinTech 500 allows us to produce complex and interesting 3D shapes. It also allows us to mass produce 2D shapes. These objects were all produced on our WinTech. Click on any of them for more details.

WinTech Key Features
The 3D turn table and twin axes allow for production of 3D shapes.
Customers may email us CAD drawing directly (preferably in the DXF file format)
The Digitiser Tablet allows us to trace templates sent by customers.
The oscillating blades are only 3mm wide and can turn in place allowing for very fine cuts
The centre guide for the blade allows the machine to know exactly where the blade is. This leads to a perfect cut.

Wintech Case Study: Mechanical Sparring Partner
Recently we were asked to produce a foam shell for a mechanical sparring partner: a punch bag that punches back. The client's designers provided us with a 3D model of one section.
We identified the correct foam for the application. Then our CAD people broke the design into smaller parts. These parts were cut by our Wintech CNC machine and assembled by our team.
We fitted this outer foam shell to the internal parts. The result was sent to an upholsterer for covering.
We transformed a complex 3D model into a complex 3D object.
Our experience in working with other manufacturers, designers, upholsterers and 3D models made this possible.
3D model client sent us. Design subject to copyright. Patent pending.
Output sent to upholsterer
Wintech Case Study: Curved Soft-Play Shapes
We are regularly asked to produce strange curved shapes for the soft-play industry. These can vary from wobbly men, to dolphins, to giant stars.
In each case we are able to take a customer's drawing and turn it into a reality without a physical template.
We took the customers 2D drawings and turned them into complex 3D shapes using the right foam for each part of the object.
Wintech Case Study: Racing Car 3D Jigsaw
One of our more interesting creations was a life-size foam supercar.
This was made out of over 40 large foam components, each individually upholstered in racing colours.
Together they formed a 3D jigsaw for children to assemble.
The customer sent plans for each component, we transformed them into a workable form, and then executed them.
